Sharon, The Iron Hand
(In French, Paris: Jean Picollec, 2006, 412pp.)

Freddy Eytan

Freddy Eytan, Director of European Affairs at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, has just published an important book in French: Sharon, The Iron Hand (Sharon, le bras de fer).

At a moment when Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has departed from the Israeli political scene, policy-makers and the general public are looking to the future. But in order to move forward, it is essential to understand who Ariel Sharon was, his long-term political vision, how his views became official policy, and the extent to which the rival political parties in Israel have adopted those views.

In Sharon, The Iron Hand, Ambassador Eytan presents a remarkable, in-depth portrait of Prime Minister Sharon in all his complexity: soldier, strategist, farmer, politician, and family man.

The book will be published in English in September 2006 (a Studio 9 book).
