Golan

The Golan Heights are the northwestern most area of Israel and border Lebanon and Syria. Israel obtained them after the Six Day War in 1967 and officially annexed them in 1981 with the passage of the Golan Heights Law. The plateau and mountainous region is viewed as extremely strategic location and therefore remain as an interest to both Syria and Israel.
