Al-Qaeda

Al-Qaeda is a Sunni Islamic organization that was founded in 1988 following the Soviet war in Afghanistan. Internationally recognized as a terrorist organization, Al-Qaeda has perpetrated attacks against civilians and military throughout the world, most notoriously the September 11th World Trade Center attack. Movements associated with the larger Al-Qaeda network have been established in numerous countries throughout the world.
